Beavers are the youngest members of the Group. Children can join the Colony from the age of 5. There are now two Colonies and meetings are on Mondays and Tuesday evenings from 5.30-6.30pm. Both Colonies take boys and girls and the children work for a variety of badges, culminating in the top award, the Dam Builder. Outings have included visits to the local police and fire station, Silloth beach, a trip on the La'al Ratty railway and Beamish Museum. Pond dipping and bug hunts always appear on the summer programme, when the Beavers are out and about as much as possible. The Beavers have a themed sleepover each July and attend a special Area day, for Beavers from across the north.
